The right use of visualization is to impress upon our subconscious mind what we want ourselves to do. When you were young, and visualized having a car & driving it, it was so that you would someday have a car and be able to drive it. And today, you actually drive it on auto-pilot. Thus, visualization is to train your auto-pilot so YOU create love and prosperity FROM you.

You do not need to apply your will to things in order to compel them to come to you. That would simply be trying to coerce God and would be foolish and useless.

You do not have to try to compel God to give you good things, any more than you have to use will power to make the sun rise.

You do not have to use your will power to conquer an unfriendly Deity, or to make stubborn and rebellious forces do your bidding. Substance is friendly to you, and is more anxious to give you what you want than you are to get it.

To get rich, you need only to use your will power upon yourself. When you know what to think and do, then you must use your will to compel yourself to think and do the right things. That is the legitimate use of the will in getting what you want to use it in holding yourself to the right course. Use your will to keep yourself thinking and acting in the certain way.”

The Secret always has and always will work. The Secret is about changing who we are, not how the world is. Visualize what you desire each day, with love in your heart, feeling good, ready to be the person who could receive it.

This hundred-year-old book does reflect man exploring ideas about the universe still a bit influenced by superstitions. However, from a psychology perspective, it’s understanding of visualization and clear purpose is profound and simple. It’s a tiny book and a quick read. Anyone interested in success can’t skip this book.

Love is the only thing where the mind is not needed; and that is where the West is wrong: it brings in the mind even there!

Love is what every human desires. Everything resolves to love. But in the West, even love is calculation, needing mind. There is constant negotiation, neediness, planning.

Love is unconditional giving. This is simple. But most think love is the chemical reaction (like intoxication) one feels when they cannot live without another. That is a distortion perpetuated by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and so many bad movies. Mind is engaged because it is rooted in fear.

Let go of mind and notice if you find the tip of love waiting to be revealed beneath an endless ocean…

This question was posed in sermons by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. around December 12, 1965. (I was 18 months old.) Sorry, it wasn’t Einstein, as suggested in the book The Secret. In this question, our model of the world is revealed. In one model, life is against us, Haiti is just a tragedy, and everything is just a struggle. In another model, maybe the universe is somehow helping us along though on the surface life does test our love, appreciation, learning, and growth.

Just by asking the question, MLK Jr. suggested that life is much more than simply the surface level our eyes see. Maybe there is some order, life is not simply chaos. We see that challenges seem to bring out more love than prosperity can. The Haitian earthquake or 9-11 gets us to drop our ego separation and simply give, which is love. Unconditional giving to support the evolution of another.

Maybe our marriage challenges, economic woes, and other “inconveniences” are simply helping us along to love each other more? Maybe the moment a friend thinks of giving up on a marriage is the precipice of where real love can happen? Maybe everything is happening perfectly? Maybe when our world loves each other and gives up ego that will be the dawn of real peace on earth?

A mind map is a diagram used to represent words, ideas, tasks, or other items linked to and arranged around a central key word or idea. Mind maps are used to generate, visualize, structure, and classify ideas, and as an aid in study, organization, problem solving, decision making, and writing. They’re an awesome way to take any concept and simplify it.

The first mind maps were drawn in the 3rd century by a philosopher as a way to understand the works for Aristotle. If you’re tried to read Aristotle, you know from where the saying, “a picture is worth a million words” came.

Now there’s an application you can download for PC & Mac for your own brainstorming. It’s a great way to break down your goals for 2010 into it’s component parts. It’s also a great way to visually communicate with your team. Visual is memorable!
